This page is intended to offer a little guidance in preparing and uploading your artwork for your bespoke order, if in doubt, please feel free to contact us at anytime for assistance in preparing your artwork. Once you are ready, please use the upload button which appears below to send us your artwork. NOTE: Please be aware that we will not receive your artwork if there is no order number attached. You must have an order number to be able to send artwork.

When creating your artwork please allow room on the back of chocolate bar wrappers for information which is required to appear by law, these are: Ingredients, Allergy Info, Nutritional Info. The best before date and batch number will be placed by our team once raw material has been allocated.  If you wish to place this information yourself when designing your wrap, you can find the these details along with guidance further down this page.

ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS:    jpeg, pdf, png,   preferred format is pdf. Max 3mb

General Guidance:

Artwork should be created and sent as CMYK colour format, this ensures that (although we can never guarantee and exact colour match) we can match colours as closely as possible for digital print. Sending your file in RGB format means that it will need to be converted to CMYK for print, this will have an adverse effect on the final print colours.

For the best quality, ensure your images are 300dpi at 100%, and convert all RGB imagery to CMYK. If you are using logos, ensure these are in vector format.

The preferred file format for sending your artwork is pdf.

Remember:

What you see on screen is RGB Format. What you see in actual finished print is CMYK Format. For this reason we cannot guarantee exact colour matches to specific pantone shades. Please also be aware that different PC/Phone/Tablet screens may be set to different colour profiles, this means that everyone is different and unique, for that reason what you see on your screen may not always be what we see on our screen when viewing the same artwork.

Safe area:

It is always a good idea to have a ‘safe area’ or margin around the edge of your artwork, ensuring that you do not place any important information or text outside of the safe area. Please ensure that any important text or image parts are kept a minimum of 4mm away from any trim edges. See an example below.

Bleed Area:

Ensure you have a 3mm bleed to make sure you’re not left with a white edge when wrappers are trimmed to size. This means that the artwork should extend 3mm over the document size on all four sides. See an example below.

If you feel unsure about artwork layout, please talk to us, remember we do not charge for artwork layout and so it may be easier for you to send your artwork files and our design team will layout your artwork in wrapper format without charge provided there is a valid order in place.

Your artwork will be proofed back to you for your approval prior to any final print actually taking place.

ARTWORK LAYOUT AND REQUIRED INFORMATION:

When producing artwork for wrappers, please allow for the industry standard tolerence of plus or minus 1 to 1.5mm on bar edges. Try to avoid any text being placed on the top and bottom thickness of bar edges as these will very rarely line up due to the industry standard + / - tolerance.

The information listed below must appear on the back of the chocolate bar wrapper (excluding small neapolitans).

INGREDIENTS: Any wording in bold within the ingredients list MUST ALSO APPEAR IN BOLD on the back of the wrapper.  

ALLERGY INFORMATION: Any wording in bold within the allergy information section MUST ALSO APPEAR IN BOLD on the wrapper.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION: Nutritional values are indicative data based on theoretical values, therefore the sum will not be equal to 100%.

The wrapper must also contain information of the company produced for: For example:Manufactured in the UK for:  (replace this text with the clients contact details outlined below)

Contact details can be abbreviated in any of the following formats: Company Name and Telephone No,  OR Company Name and Post Code, OR Company Web Address OR Company Name and Email. (Any of these formats are acceptable)

Batch Numbers and Best before Dates:  Any batch numbers and Best before Date will be added by the manufacturer once raw material has been allocated and registered. Please ensure that you leave room for our art department to add this information once it becomes available.
